The statue is the idea of one man, a Christian merchant who lives in Nazareth who has seen the demographics of his town shift considerably in recent years from Christian to Muslim. Inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, his plan is to build the statue atop nearby Mount Precipice."
