Avoiding the Error of Replacement Theology: "One of the most dangerous influences (as if we need another one) is commonly found in most mainline denominational churches. It should be FIRST on any list of warnings about false doctrines due to its covert and lethal characteristics. Few church-going Christians even know it exists. Yet, it influences most things they hear from the pulpit. It’s commonly referred to as “Replacement Theology” or what is now called “Supersessionism”. In its simplest form, it teaches that God has eternally rejected and turned His back on Israel for crucifying Jesus Christ (their Messiah). As a result of this sin, He (God) has now permanently “replaced” Israel with the Christian Church. "
